Medical Services
The College Health Services Unit was established over 30 years ago to cater for the health needs of the College Community. The Unit is staffed with experienced officers including a Medical Doctor/Director, a pharmacist, Nurses , Laboratory Technicians, Medical record clerks and other paramedical Officers.
Presently, the College Health Services Unit has the following sections:
- The Clinic, which consists of consulting units, treatment room vital sign section , observation units;
- Medical records
- Medical Laboratory
- Dispensary
- Preventive health unit.
- Environmental Services Unit
Several functions are carried out by the health services department, namely, medical attention and treatment, antenatal care, dispensary/laboratory services, medical counselling, ambulance and preventive health services.
The clinic is open for consultation and treatment from 7.30 am to 8.30pm daily except Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. However, in cases of emergency, the Doctor and some of the medical staff resident in the senior staff quarters can be contacted. Emergency services are arranged for 24 hours of the day . Other sections of the Unit (Medical records, medical laboratory, Dispensary, Preventive Health units) operate between 8.00a.m. and 4.00p.m. on working days only.
