Hostel Accomodation
Eligibilty
  • Student hostel accommodation in the College is a privilege, not a right. Only bona fide and registered students of the College are eligible to apply for hostel accommodation.
  • Only first year and final year students may be considered for accommodation.
  • Senior staff request may be granted for any student.
Application
Any student seeking hostel accommodation may apply on the prescribed forms through the Student Affairs Officer. As soon as the list of successful applicants is released, every successful applicant is expected to pay the accommodation fees and occupy the room allocated to him/her.
Procedure for Payment and Allocation (Bed space)
All applications for accommodation are considered by the Hostel Allocation Committee. Students can only pay the prescribed fee for accommodation, when their names appear on the accommodation list released by the Committee. Students shall pay such fee in the Account Department of the College and obtain a payment receipt. The payment receipt is photocopied and attached to the accommodation form which shall be taken to the Students Affairs Officer for space allocation and collection of key.
Accommodation during Vacation
  • Every student residing in the College hostel is expected to vacate his/her room at end of the second semester, handing over the keys to his/her room and other College property to the appropriate authorities.
  • Any student who wishes to remain in the hostel at the end of the second semester must obtain College approval by applying through the Student Affairs Officer.
Accommodation Offences and Punishment
  • Accommodation offences include loss of keys to rooms,subletting of rooms, failure to vacate room at end of second semester, failure to complete room clearance at the end of second semester, interference with electrical fittings, misuse of College properties in the hostel, keeping pets e.g. dogs and cats, theft, engaging in immoral behaviour e.g. sexual harassment etc. failure to occupy room after two weeks of allocation, tresspassing, fighting, squattiing, etc.
  • Any student found guilty of any of the aforementioned accommodation offences shall be liable to any of the following disciplinary actions; ranging from paying for the cost of repairs/replacement of properties, forfeiting the room, withdrawal of allocation, forceful ejection, to suspension and/or expulsion from the College.
